So, I don't know if there are any BFB enthusiasts near Leicester or Swansea (both UK), but there are two free public book exchange shelves near me that I like to peek at whenever I'm in the neighbourhood.

One, in Swansea, is in the Chattery, a great cafe in the Uplands. The exchange shelf is near the back, on the right, and it's always well-stocked. I drop registered books there occasionally, and most of the books are unregistered, so it's a good place to maybe get a couple of new members for the site! The postcode is SA2 0EZ.

The other is in Sutton Cheney, by the canal, Sutton Wharf. (It's not near me but it's near my mum and I visit her and the bookshelf in one go!) (http://www.suttonwharf.com/) It's a lovely spot, again there's a nice cafe, and around behind the loos (outdoors) there's a covered area and there's a bookshelf there with loads of books and magazines. All sorts of stuff! If you don't mind a bit of weather exposure, a very little bit, it's a good place to pick up something a bit different.
