I thought we should have a thread for people who want to give books away!
I have the first six in the Dragonriders of Pern series by Anne McCaffrey, and it seems sensible to keep them all together, since if I release them people might take them in dribs and drabs. Some of them are on BookCrossing, and the rest I can register here on BFB. Is it bad form to offer BC books on here? :/ I'd normally refrain, but I think it's best to keep the set together!
Anyway, if anyone is interested in receiving these, please get in touch - I can't find a way for members to contact each other, but you can email me at charlotte DOT lodge AT gmail DOT com with your address and I'll send them your way. Obviously I'd be happiest if you can journal them all, including the BC ones, I hope that's not bad... :/
Once they're out of my hands I don't mind what happens to them, so you can pass them on or keep them forever or release them into the wild to fend for themselves. :)
Thanks!
Lottie

This is an absolutely perfect thread Lottie. We are really not possessive over members and which service they use, as long as people are able to connect, share and read we are smiling.
I know very little about this series but will have a look and let you know if I am keen to tackle it. Sounds like it may be up my alley but will let you know.
P.S. I am sure you will be pleased to know that the new version allows you to communicate much more easily with other members without disclosing things like your email address.
Another awesome feature of the future update! Looking forward to it! :) And thanks for being so accepting of BC, I didn't want to tread on toes. :)
The Pern series is pretty good, I think it was written in the 60s. It's based on a future world where the human race has had to move off to another planet, but it reads like fantasy. There's this weird parasite that falls from the sky in little squiggles, and the only way to stop it destroying everything is with really hot fire, so they've bred dragons. A dragon and his/her rider are telepathically linked, and the whole culture that develops around it is really interesting, kind of feudal, but with dragons. :D There's a Queen dragon who lays all the eggs, and kids are "impressed" by dragons at a young age and basically have an amazing dragonny friend for life. Anne McCaffrey wrote quite a few books in the Pern universe, too, you don't have to read them in order.
I'm not amazing at describing books, I try not to give things away, I hope all of that makes sense!
This is my blog, where (amongst other things) I say what I've bought and review what I'm read. I'm always willing for anyone in the UK to request books listed there. All add a BFB code to anything requested through BornFreeBooks which isn't already registered with BC. All I ask is that you journal its arrival.
Oooops, just realised that I didn't put my blog address is that previous post (d'oh).
Here it is: http://abigailannreading.blogspot.com/
That's really cool, Abigail! You're clearly very kind. :) I'd be up for giving "War of the Worlds" a go, I've always been very intrigued! Perhaps the best thing (until we've got the new version with messages) is to email? charlotte DOT lodge AT gmail DOT com. :)
Sorry Lottie but, as stated at the end of my review, 'War of The Worlds' was a BC ring/ray copy, so I can't pass it on to you. Hope you're not too disappointed and that you'll spot something else you like soon.
Arg, damn! ;) I read all of it, and then ignored that bit because I didn't want it to be true. :P Sorry to bug you then, and thanks!
Don't worry, you're not bugging me ;)
You're sweet - thanks! :)
Just to let everyone know that I've joined bookmooch and will be giving away books through there. My username is the same as here.
If you spot on any of my blogs, sites etc that I've read a book you'd like, live in the UK and would like a copy do let me know. I'm not planning on putting all the books I have available on bookmooch (at least for the time-being). The only books I'm not willing to send are particularly heavy ones, ones I've borrowed from the library and ones I've read as rings/rays.
I do love BookMooch, the points system is pretty cool. :) I will try to find you next time I'm logged in; I'm the same username there, too.
I only have one book on there at the moment and its already book taken. Looking for your name now.
Im currently offerring a copy of Guppies for Tea on my blog. If you're in the UK and interested please pop over there for how to register you interest
Just to let you know that I now have a search option on my blog for books available. Direct link is http://abigailannreading.blogspot.com/search/label/available%20for%...
These books are available after posting until I get round to bookcrossing them- the sooner you contact me after posting, the more likely they will still be available!
Don't know if anyone's still checking here, but I've just started my first giveway on my blog. Its for Olive Farm, which I really enjoyed (not sure that comes across very well in my review- reading till the end). Open to everyone in the UK- http://abigailannreading.blogspot.com/2011/03/50th-follower-giveawa...
